My daughter Graylynn just turned 2 (in June). How that happened so quickly I don’t know since I remember the day she was born as if it were yesterday- yet here we are and she is now 2. Gray is my girlie girl in fact I call her my mini me since we both have a love for shoes, jewellery, handbags – she may or may  not get that all from me and I may have a habit of encouraging her love of them. She is a ray of sunshine and such a sweet little girl who is changing and growing daily. Now that she is 2 I’ve been thinking of changing her room up a bit to make it a little less baby and little more “kiddish”. I want to keep her room girlie, really bright and airy like the rest of our home but maybe go with a different colour scheme then she has right now. Here are a few of the things that are inspiring me as I start planning to change her “nursery” into her “big girl room”.

Color: Stolen Kiss  This colour is from Behr’s new line of pain and I think its the perfect colour. It’s light and airy yet a touch of girlie without being too bold. I’m excited to try out this new line of paint and I will have to blog about how it goes once I’ve used the product.

Bed: Sundvik White Bed I love this cute little white bed. It’s just a simple wooden bed with a bit of detailing but its a perfect simple canvas to add some fun bedding.

Bedding: Emily + Meritt Metallic Dottie Set  As a gold lover myself, its no surprise I would want to incorporate gold into my daughters room.  I love what Emily + Meritt have done with this line of bedding. It is cute and fun yet not too grown up or too babyish.

photo Lighting: Manor Court Crystal Chandelier Restoration Hardware is one of my “go to” stores. It always has tons of beautiful things that I love but I don’t always love the price tag. This beautiful chandelier is the perfect touch to my little girls room. She is after all my princess so a chandelier in her little “castle” makes sense. photo Accents: Gold Heart I had originally purchased this heart decal for a different room in my house but after it arrived I started dreaming about my little girls room and thought this decal needed to be in there. I love using Urban Walls decals. They are easy to use and she has lots of different fun decals in lots of beautiful colours.   Once all the major pieces are in place then I will add some special accents and I will be sure to update you on the treasures I find.

Now that I’ve written this post I am excited to start putting her room together but I’ll admit my mommy heart is a little sad that we are already here. Time really does fly by when you have children. I have loved watching her grow up and develop into the little person she is today but some days I wish she was still small enough to be cradled in my arms. As I look at both my babies daily, I am reminded to enjoy each stage that they are in because all too quickly they grow up and change and eventually one day they will spread their wings and leave my little nest. Ok, enough about that now that I am reaching for the kleenex box, I will go and enjoy my sweet little bundle of vibrant energy and dramatic flare.
