With every year that my babies get older Christmas gets even more exciting and magical. We adopted the “4 gift method” after my oldest’s first Christmas! Since she was our first we went a little “buying happy” especially since we had waited 5 (painfully long) years to finally have a baby at Christmas. When Christmas morning came she had this huge, heaping pile of gifts to open thanks to us, her grandparents and aunts and uncles. The poor sweet babe wasn’t even into the presents she was more excited about the wrapping paper and it was than that my hubby and I knew we needed to change our ways! We decided from than on we would only buy each other and our children 4 gifts each Christmas (in addition to their stockings). 1 want, 1 wear, 1 read 1 need! And let me tell you this has been such a great thing for us! It makes buying easier and financial we can be frugal and in turn we can help others. In addition we also do an Christmas shoe box for each of our children and this year was so fun because my oldest two actually get it. If you don’t know what Operation Christmas Child is it is an organization that distributes these shoe boxes (That people like ourselves fill) and give to kids in 3 world countries. My husband started to do this before we ever had a family and each year we continued to fill our shoe boxes and look forward to the day when we could shop with our own children and let them pick out the gifts they would want to “give”/send to another little boy and girl. This year when it came to what my own babies are asking and hoping for it was an array of different things but they aren’t asking for much which I am thankful for. My oldest is obsessed with Paw Patrols (Im not even kidding) so she is naturally asking for something Paw Patrol related even though she has all the pups already there are 2 things she doesn’t have….I wonder if she will get one or both of them? My little man is into dinosaurs and remote control things right now (typical guy right) and he has been asking for drums. I know right – my husband isn’t too keen on that one but I love that he wants to play an instrument and being a musician myself I started playing piano at 4 so he is not far off and if it helps him discover a passion or a talent than why not? My oldest has suggested that she can play guitar brother can play drums mommy can play piano and sissy can sing …. maybe we should get a bus and hit the road?! My baby (who is becoming less and less a baby every passing day) is totally into dolls and loves carrying her babies (sometimes 4 at a time) around all day long. If you follow me on snapchat you will have seen me posting about her and her babies. She is becoming such a good little mommy so this year we thought a double stroller would be perfect for her since she thinks she is miss independent and never thinks just one baby is enough so the double stroller will allow her to load them up. To say that they are excited for Christmas morning would be no surprise but I think I am equally as excited for them to open their gifts and see their faces as they squeal with delight! What are your littles asking for this Christmas? Have you finished your shopping yet?
