Welcome December! Hard to believe you are already here! Now that you have arrived that is definitely a wake up call for us that there are only 24 days left till Christmas. 24 days, 3 weekends, which really isn’t a lot of time when you factor in all the holiday parties and get togethers, the food prep, gift buying, gift wrapping, card mailing etc… that has to happen in that short amount of time. How is your shopping going? Hopefully you were able to score some great deals on all the Black Friday sales and if not, maybe you like to participate in the sales today for Cyber Monday. I am just about all done my shopping which is exciting but sorta sad because I enjoy the shopping, buying for others, wrapping it up all pretty and lets face it, we really only do this once a year minus birthdays, but they are never to this abundance and so sporadic throughout the year. Today I wanted to give you a few gift ideas for the little people in your life. I absolutely love buying for my kids and even my nieces and nephews. After my daughters first Christmas, my husband and I quickly realized how overwhelming Christmas can be for little people (and big people too). My daughter was only 6 months old at the time and so she really had no idea or concept of Christmas, all she could tell was that there was a mound (and I am not exaggerating) of gifts for her to open and it literally took her all day (she obviously had to pause for naps throughout the gift openings). After that my husband and I agreed that we don’t want Christmas to be about the gifts for not only our children, but for us as well because the true meaning of Christmas is all about our Saviours birth and the gift of Him coming as a baby to earth. So we adopted the idea of 4 gifts each for Christmas, for ourselves and our babies. A gift you: need, want, read and wear! It makes my shopping way more strategic and somewhat easier since I am only buying 4 things but I want them to also be creative and fun. Our babies also get gifts from their fabulous aunties and uncles and grandparents who all are asking the dreaded question “What do they want?” Well since my babies are 2 and a half and just 12 months you can’t really get an answer out of them. Take them to the toy store and they want it all, so mommy has to use her mommy powers and come up with a list for them. So with all that said here are some of the ideas I came up with.
