If you follow me on Instagram you would know that a couple weeks ago my hubby and I threw a Holiday Party for some of our closest friends. It was so much fun to have our friends over all the babies in bed and we just drank wine and ate yummy food it was awesome. I love this time of year and of course you all know I love to throw a party as well. So I went with a Wintery Rustic feel for my theme and I thought having a hot chocolate bar would be so fun and comfy! I wanted to send my guests home with a little something at the end of the night so of course I searched pinterest for some ideas and found the cutest hot chocolate ornaments. As usual with pinterest they seemed fairly easy and simple so off to Michael’s Craft and Bulk Barn I went to make my purchases (with babies in tow).
- 1 single serving package (or half of the ornament) instant hot chocolate mix in the flavor of your choice… all of the varieties I used Salted Carmel, Candy Cane and Regular Chocolate.
- 1 clear plastic fillable ornament. I suggest finding ones that are food safe.
- sprinkles
- chocolate chips (or white chocolate chips)
- marshmallows
- tag or note on how to make the hot chocolate (mix with 8 oz. hot water)
- mugs are optional (here is a cute & simple Christmas tree mug)
- candy cane &/or chocolate spoons are also optional
Salted Carmel Hot Cocoa
Candy Cane Hot Cocoa
Chocolate Hot Cocoa
Our guests loved them and they were simple (yet a bit messy) to make and I even let my daughter help add the ingredients into the funnel and she loved it. What a super fun and cute simple gift idea to give to people over the holidays! Hope you are all getting ready for Christmas. Only 4 days left!!!
What a great idea Katie! I am going to do that for my friends next year. It is so much fun watching you blossom into this all around fashionista!
