I love the fact I live in a country where we get to experience all the seasons soley for the purpose of changing my wardrobe. Is that awful to say? I mean I truly to appreciate the beauty in the 4 different seasons. As I type this I can see all the trees out our backyard changing colours they are so vibrant and beautiful and I didn’t have to travel any distance to see or experience that. But another reason to enjoy the ever changing seasons is switching out my wardrobe. Ill admit I think fall is my favourite season to dress for because hello all the warm cozy layers – whats not to love. And for my kids I don’t have to bundle them up too much (yet) which is nice and makes for easier and quicker mornings getting out the door. I don’t typically buy a lot of clothes for myself because well buying for my kids is just more fun and cute but I do believe in purchasing a few key pieces as I like to call them that make for super functional pieces to create different looks.

Leather Leggings – these Vegan leggings are one of those higher end purchases but if your a mom and you too believe leggings are pants (I’m slightly joking) these are a must have. The hold you in and don’t lose their shape. I have had mine for 2 seasons now and still love them. I have been tempted to try the Spanx ones – anyone else try them and what do you think?

Camo Jacket – this is a staple to not only functionally keep you warm but it is a pop of colour/pattern. I love to pair mine with a plaid shirt or a white and black striped long sleeve. I pretty much love anything camo as much as I do leopard.

Wool Hat Because we all have hat days and this is a cute way to hid that dirty 3 day ole hair

Denim Shirt If you looked into my closet or my kids you would probably be like my husband and make fun of me for the amount of denim shirts we all ow but I swear they are a staple for all seasons. This one I recently purchased and love because of the length. It can cover my bum and I can throw it on with leggings or wear it as a sweater open with a shirt underneath as well.

Boots – I love a good boot – well lets be real I love shoes in general but a good boot is important for fall and winter. I don’t mind spending a bit more on a good boot that is practical, comfy and will last. These boots I have and love and get compliments all the time when I wear them and although they are a bit pricey they are super comfy and so functional.

Basic Long Sleeve Henley its a basic enough said! For wearing under a sweater, or under an open button up to layering under a vest a henley is a fall must have and this one is under $15.

Long Sweater A chunky knit long sweater is a must in my opinion. Because I am tall I always gravitate to longer sweaters but if you aren’t into the long ones a waist length one would be super functional as well. I am obsessed with carmel colour for fall and this sweater is just gorgeous.

Jean – I love a good high waisted jeans and I love the details of the raw hem on these ones and they are under $50 and I have been living in these.

  • On days I have a flare up getting up and out of bed is hard enough much less take care of my 4 sweet kiddos ... so thankful today for this sweet girls snuggles and an amazing husband who takes care of all the things I can’t on days like today ... you’re the mvp @tspinksy
  • I’m not here to get political but just to say we are thankful for the amazing teachers we have in our lives! My kiddos were asking questions about the strike yesterday and so in an age appropriate way I explained what I could to them and Gray quietly escaped and came back some time later with this sign she had made and asked to join her teacher today walking the picket line with her sign (and her little sister followed suit) ... we can differ on what side of this political issue we stand but I will say some of the BEST people I know are teachers and they love their students and want to provide the safest and most positive environment for their students to learn! I couldn’t do their job but I am thankful for them and their love for my kiddos because let’s face it, a teacher who doesn’t make school a fun, safe and loving environment will produce children who don’t love and enjoy school and therefore lack a desire to learn! Thank you to @barrett.kim @melissa_a_stark @heidi_sawatzky Kristy Patton Tricia Orchard Melissa Marshall Stephanie Hodgson for all you do day in and day out on the day’s even when it’s hard you show up and do the best you can! • Because calories don’t count on your birthday ... and one is an apple so it’s healthy 😉
  • What if you woke up tomorrow and knew it was your last day? What would you do? Who would you call? What would you say? It shouldn’t take a tragedy for each of us to be reminded what a gift each day is - it’s not promised to us it’s not earned or deserved it’s a gift but how we spend our time with who we spend it with is our choice. Reevaluate what and who is important ... say I love you more, forgive quickly and live life to the fullest!
  • Needed coffee but was sweating after my little incident (see stories) so went to my trusty summer coffee order - it was delish even if it was freezing cold outside!
