In my last two houses I have had my laundry room on the top floor which I have loved but when it came to designing our new home I wanted a change. I knew I didn’t want the laundry in the basement but I wasn’t sure if I wanted it on the top floor again just for square footage sake. So I decided to have it on the main floor and combine it with a “mudroom”. Now I have never had a mudroom before but I am excited to have one. Now that the babies are getting bigger and with the summer weather coming (well I hope it is coming as it is storming outside right now it doesn’t feel hopeful) I know we will spend lots of time outside and getting wet and dirty so a mud room is perfect to drop off those wet and dirty clothes and then the laundry facilities are there. So now my question is how do I lay out the room. I want to make the most out of the space and I want it to be multi functional. I obviously will need laundry facilities but also lots of storage. So I have all these ideas floating around in my head about what I want but since I am a visual person I go to my trusty Pinterest to try and find some visual inspiration.
