29 years ago today a sweet baby girl was born! I didn’t fully understand at the time how important and special this little baby girl would be and how much she would effect my life. At the time all I knew was that I all of a sudden became a big sister and no longer had my parents attention all to myself. I thought it was pretty fun to have a real life dolly that I could help my mom take care of. We grew up to be the best of friends all through our school years but it wasn’t until I was out of the house that I realized just how blessed and thankful I was/am for my sister and our relationship! I know I have shared before that my sister is my best friend but I have to say it again, she truly is. Not a day goes by that I don’t talk to her and my babies talk about her non stop! Although we don’t see her as often as I wish we did due to geographic distance I wouldn’t change our relationship for anything (although I do pray daily that she moves her one day SOON).
Sissy today on this your birthday, as you enter into your last year of your twenties, my wish for you is the same as it is every year: That you would feel loved, valued and appreciated. That you would know how much you mean to me and how thankful I am for you. That this next year would be a year where God’s love and blessings are poured out on you as you seek God’s favour and live to honour and glorify him! I guess this year I am adding one…. that you make me an auntie 😉 your nieces and nephew are wishing for a new cousin and if you have twins … well then double the blessing and you’ll have a happy husband! I hope that you celebrate this day of your birth in a fun and exciting way just like you are! Have an adventure – do something new and exciting and I will look forward to celebrating with you when I see you! I love you very much and I am so thankful for you.
“For many years we’ve shared our lives
One roof we once lived under
Sometimes we laughed, sometimes we cried
Through winter storms and thunder
The younger years have faded fast
We’ve gone our separate ways
But through all time our friendship lasts
Our bond in life remains
As summer brings the happy times
The Autumn winds will whisper
A closer friend I’d never find
Than the one I call my Sister”
