The weather has changed so quickly over here! One day it was hot summer days and the next fall blew in with rainy, cool, gloomy weather which has me thinking all things fall! And just like that September is over and October rushed in and Thanksgiving (in Canada) is only days away! This year for my tablescape I wanted to think outside my white, gold, bright box – which wasn’t easy for me but I am so happy with how it turned out! I really had no idea what I was going to do so I walked into Homesense and kept an open mind. I started looking for something to jump out at me – something that wasn’t white or gold but yet fall related! The most gorgeous emerald green velvet pumpkin jumped out at me and even better was that it had a gold stem! I knew that was my inspiration. I am crushing on emerald green right now and I knew it would be the perfect piece to my table. I thank started thinking about traditional fall colours – burnt orange, mustard yellow, warm white and I went with it! I also wanted to incorporate different textures and I did this by using velvet pumpkins, wicker place mates even my bowls had a texture pattern on them.
What do you think about my table? Do you like traditional fall colours? I hope you enjoyed a peak at my table! I hope that however or whomever you are spending your Thanksgiving with that you a truly grateful for the things and people in your life – I know I am!
