September is here already! Wow where did the summer go?  It is hard to believe we are already welcoming in the busy fall after having just finished a busy summer but it was a fabulous summer full of lots of family and friend, swimming, going to parks, playdates, cottage living, eating lots of yummy (not so healthy) food, and lots of photos leaving us with lasting memories.  A new month a new season full of new possibilities. Trying new things can be fun, exciting yet they can make you nervous as well. The unknown is always full of mixed emotions.

 

 

 

In less the two weeks I will be attending Blog Podium. To say I am excited is an understatement but I am equally as nervous. I am new to the blogging world and feel very much like the rookie and really don’t know what to expect at this conference. I have high hopes for it! I hope to meet lots of great people (I already know of some of the attendees and from the little I do know they seem like amazing women) and connect with them and make new friendships. I hope to learn lots of tricks to enhance my blogging and to learn more about the whole blogging world – what works, what doesn’t. In some ways I feel like a grade 9 student heading off to my first day of high school! What do I wear? What do I say? What will people think of me? Truth is I don’t know what any of the right answers to those questions are but I do know one thing. I will wear something and I will say something and all I can do is be me and hope that people like that. The creators of this conference seem to be brilliant woman with minds full of creativity, passion, and hardwork. I have been out of the corporate world for over 5 years now so I am having to learn all over again as I re-enter. Being a mom is what I do now and I wouldn’t trade it for the world but I am excited to learn and grow as a blogger and hope that this conference will be a great platform to launch into more great things for my site. You have to start somewhere right? Some of the main speakers that will be speaking at the conference are people who I admire. People who have worked very hard to get where they are. People who I would love to just sit and listen to all they have to share, soak it all up and try to learn from them and incorporate  what they are discovered along their journeys. Who wouldn’t want to hear from Jennifer Flores, Monika Hibbs and Scott McGillivrary?

If you haven’t heard about Blog Podium and you are a blogger, or are interested in the blogging world, you should COME! This is the only conference in Canada for Design and Lifestyle Bloggers. I would love the chance to meet you if you are coming so let me know if you’re going to be there! I will be there with my Starbucks in hand and hopefully not be the one that looks lost and like I don’t know what to do. If you see me please be gracious and come introduce yourself I would love that.
