Friday night my hubby and I went on a date! It was wonderful! It was also a big deal because it was the first time my husband and I have ever left our babies to be babysat by someone who wasn’t grandpa or auntie or uncle. Thankfully the girls that we were leaving them with are like family and I completely trust them. It made my mommys heart feel lighter knowing they were in safe, capable hands. It’s a big and scary decision who to leave your babies with. I had no idea how my babies would be with both mommy and daddy gone and someone else put them to bed which never happens but thankfully the night went well and everyone had a good time. Phew! So now mommy and daddy can have more date nights which makes me very happy because I know how important quality time out with my main squeeze is. It is funny how before kids your life is so “self centred”. (at least mine was) Your days, time all revolves around you and your spouse. Then along comes a baby (ies) and life changes forever. (in a great way) My husband and I love spending time with our kids and always opt to do things as a family opposed to sans the babes. But it was nice to get dressed up, go to a nice dinner, take our time ordering and just enjoy each other. I am also proud of myself for not checking in on my babes every 10 min – although I did think about it!
I love to get dressed up and since I don’t get to do it a whole lot now a days I take every opportunity I can. So date night with my hubby is the perfect excuse. I wore a super comfy white dress by Calvin Klien that featured these really cool gold exposed zippers. My shoes by BCBGeneration are a great heel that are comfy and with a cute buckle to add some detail to a basic nude pump. I added a little arm party – nothing too heavy- with my Stella Dot bracelet and my LaurenElan chunky bracelet. My hubby looked every so dapper in a grey Marc Ecko Cut & Sew suit and a blue JCrew shirt. He wore his black city boot and finished his look with his favourite Mavodo watch.
