Water – H2O! So refreshing, so good especially when its ice cold! We use it for so many things like taking a shower or bath, washing our laundry, washing dishes, making food but probably the most common way is to drink it! We all know (or at least I am assuming we all do) how important water is for our bodies and really for the environment but can you imagine if you went and turned on your tap and found dirty water? I’ll be honest I would freak out – probably call my husband and insist someone come see whats wrong with my water supply. I think most of us would probably react somewhat like that – that is those of us who daily receive and dare I say expect to find clean water from our taps every day! Can you imagine (and I can’t really even) drinking dirty water and that being the norm for you!?

One of the reasons I love to blog is to partner with programs and stand behind great initiatives that I support and think are fabulous. I love being able to use the platform I have built to help promote good things that are happening around the world and today I am doing just that! I have teamed up with Me To We Brita to share about their new campaign which I am super excited about! Me to We Brita has just launched a new limited edition Statement Bottle that provides – wait for it – clean water to a person in Irkaat, Kenya for a whole year! Do you need me to say that again?? By purchasing ONE limited edition bottle YOU will be providing a YEAR’S supply of CLEAN water to one person in Irkaat, Kenya!! *Start your car now* I couldn’t wait to get my bottle and after opening it my son quickly snatched it out of my hands and said “mommy, is this for me?” well of course he thought since it was blue it was for him but I stop for a second before replying and I thought to myself ok here is a perfect teachable moment! So I explained to my son why this what seemed to be a perfectly normal blue water bottle, was actually a super special water bottle and after explaining to him how people in Kenya have to drink dirty water it was like a little light went on in his 3 year old mind and he got how awful that would be. My – now his – water bottle hasn’t left his little chubby fingers since it was opened and he carries it around with pride. My kids are water fanatics (if that is even possible) but seriously they love water. They love to play in it, bath in it, swim in it but most of all drink it. Even tonight while putting them to bed I think I had to fill their cups 3  times each before bed. How blessed we are that they can just turn the tap on and drink as much or as little as they want without fear of really running out or getting sick from drinking it. As part of ME to We’s transparent giving model, all ME to WE Brita products come with a track your impact code for consumers to track exactly where and how their purchase has made an impact – all you have to do is go online and enter your unique code.

I hope that you can see how passionate I am about this cause! Everyone desires to drink clean water so me and my family are standing up for clean water and I hope you will join us! Big changes start with simple everyday choices. Today, March 22nd is World Water Day so I encourage you to get out today and purchase your own statement bottle an help supply one lucky soul in Kenya with clean water for a year!

  • A weekend spent at their favorite place (the beach) with our favorite people is a weekend well spent and we wish it didn’t have to end! #summertime #beachbabes
  • Have you ever felt called to do something that made no sense but you knew you had to do it? Ok, glad I’m not the only one! My man @iammiketodd said it best in a recent sermon when he said “it’s not faith if you can see it and it’s not faith if it was not once a hope” it may see crazy and it makes no sense why I’m being asked to do it but I have faith in the confidence that my obedience will produce good things. #thebestisyettocome #obedienceistheverybestway
  • Emotions... they can be a curse and a blessing! I am a feeler like I feel things deep and more often than not I am quick to wish I didn’t feel so deeply that I could care less about things so I wouldn’t be hurt but I am starting to remind myself more often that as hard as it is to feel and be open with your emotions it also can be used for good! It’s a blessing that God didn’t make @tspinksy a deeply emotional guy cause I have enough emotion for the two of us but I was reminded the other day when listening to a sermon by my bro-in-love @scottystephenson that our feelings are meant to be a gage not a guide! Emotions and feelings aren’t bad they really are a good thing and it’s ok to acknowledge how you’re feeling and feel those feelings but don’t let them be your guide to making decisions and choices in life but to always come back to truth because as we all know emotions and feelings are ever changing! #thoughtsonatuesdaynight #passthekleenex #micdrop
  • Just a mama and her boy! I’m so thankful I get to be a mommy to both boys and girls there is definitely a unique but different bond! I love all my babies equally but the bond between me and this boy is different than the one between his daddy and his sisters! 💙
  • Four years ago today, a week past your due date, you finally stopped making us wait to see your cute face and your head full of dark hair! I remember so many things about that day and today as we reminisced about that day and your big sister and brother meeting you for the first time I was once again moved to tears at the fact that Jesus knew we needed you before we knew we did! You are my fashionista, my “babysitter” to the baby’s we have you are your sister and brother’s BFF! You challenge me in ways I’ve never been challenged in motherhood, you push me to be more patient and yet we have the sweetest conversations and share a love to make anything into a song! My sweet baby girl (and yes you will always be my baby) I love you to the moon and back and can’t believe you are 4! So grown up and ready to spread your wings and start to fly this year as you start school and it breaks my heart to know that my days with you are over (I am referring to the fact you will know join your big brother and sister at school instead of being at home with me) and yet I’m so proud of you and excited to see you flourish! Happy Birthday #lyricbethany
