Water – H2O! So refreshing, so good especially when its ice cold! We use it for so many things like taking a shower or bath, washing our laundry, washing dishes, making food but probably the most common way is to drink it! We all know (or at least I am assuming we all do) how important water is for our bodies and really for the environment but can you imagine if you went and turned on your tap and found dirty water? I’ll be honest I would freak out – probably call my husband and insist someone come see whats wrong with my water supply. I think most of us would probably react somewhat like that – that is those of us who daily receive and dare I say expect to find clean water from our taps every day! Can you imagine (and I can’t really even) drinking dirty water and that being the norm for you!?

One of the reasons I love to blog is to partner with programs and stand behind great initiatives that I support and think are fabulous. I love being able to use the platform I have built to help promote good things that are happening around the world and today I am doing just that! I have teamed up with Me To We Brita to share about their new campaign which I am super excited about! Me to We Brita has just launched a new limited edition Statement Bottle that provides – wait for it – clean water to a person in Irkaat, Kenya for a whole year! Do you need me to say that again?? By purchasing ONE limited edition bottle YOU will be providing a YEAR’S supply of CLEAN water to one person in Irkaat, Kenya!! *Start your car now* I couldn’t wait to get my bottle and after opening it my son quickly snatched it out of my hands and said “mommy, is this for me?” well of course he thought since it was blue it was for him but I stop for a second before replying and I thought to myself ok here is a perfect teachable moment! So I explained to my son why this what seemed to be a perfectly normal blue water bottle, was actually a super special water bottle and after explaining to him how people in Kenya have to drink dirty water it was like a little light went on in his 3 year old mind and he got how awful that would be. My – now his – water bottle hasn’t left his little chubby fingers since it was opened and he carries it around with pride. My kids are water fanatics (if that is even possible) but seriously they love water. They love to play in it, bath in it, swim in it but most of all drink it. Even tonight while putting them to bed I think I had to fill their cups 3  times each before bed. How blessed we are that they can just turn the tap on and drink as much or as little as they want without fear of really running out or getting sick from drinking it. As part of ME to We’s transparent giving model, all ME to WE Brita products come with a track your impact code for consumers to track exactly where and how their purchase has made an impact – all you have to do is go online and enter your unique code.

I hope that you can see how passionate I am about this cause! Everyone desires to drink clean water so me and my family are standing up for clean water and I hope you will join us! Big changes start with simple everyday choices. Today, March 22nd is World Water Day so I encourage you to get out today and purchase your own statement bottle an help supply one lucky soul in Kenya with clean water for a year!
