I am thankful for food. I know that sounds simple and silly but I truly am. I love food maybe even a little too much, yet I think often about how blessed and lucky I am to live in a country where we can have access to food so easily and we have the finances to eat delicious food. I’m thankful that on the days I am too tired (or lazy) to cook we can enjoy restaurants that cook delicious food for us. With Thanksgiving dinner in just a few days (for most of us Canadians) I thought we could look at planning a Thanksgiving Dinner.
There is the obvious part which would be the food. Turkey, ham, potatoes, veggies, cranberry sauce, gravy and don’t forget the stuffing. How cute are these pumpkin shaped dinner rolls! Even if you are gluten free there are yummy options for you too.
Then there is apple pie, pumpkin pie or even a fun, festive cupcake.
Once you have your menu planned, the grocery shopping done and the meal cooked, you need a table and things to eat on and serve with. The table scape is probably the most fun part of the whole dinner experience. Atleast to me it is! This gold table is obviously one of my favourites.
Or if you like something a bit more traditional this one is beautiful as well.
I love the idea of using this instead of place cards. And I think it would be so encouraging to go around the table and have everyone read what they wrote at their spot.
And lets not forget about the kiddies and their table too.
Once you have made your table look beautiful and have enjoyed your delicious meal you can sit back relax and enjoy sipping a smooth cocktail with your friends and family. You could even try a new festive one like this Pumpkin Spice cocktail.
If you are not hosting a Thanksgiving meal but are having the privilege of being hosted don’t forget to bring your sweet host a lovely little thank you gift. You could do a DIY gift like this creative and yummy candy apple gift.
Or you could give this super, cute apron to the hostess to save their outfit as they cook and prepare the Thanksgiving Dinner.
Or you can always choose a nice bottle of wine and create a handmade festive thank you label to add to your wine.
So there are some ideas to help you as you start preparing to host or to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner this weekend. Did I forget anything?
Love it all!!!! You have an amazing way I bringing it all together!!!
