With the cool weather here now it was time to find my new “mommy uniform” for this weather. I love to get dressed up and take every opportunity I can to do just that, but lets be honest on a day to day basis that’s just not practical for me. I carry one baby on my hip usually holding my toddlers hand as she drags me wherever we need to go. I need something that is cute, comfy, practical, warm and something that doesn’t scream mommy but something that looks polished, put together and I feel good in it. My go to this year is leggings. I am a sucker for a good pair of leggings with a comfy tunic. I can be comfy working around the house in it and yet be presentable if someone comes to my door or if I need to run out to the store.  I am also a huge fan of basic colours, okay well black isn’t truly a colour but it is my go to colour for everything clothing wise for myself. It hides all the kids food, snot, dirty hands – you know the stuff as moms we always end up wearing. I also feel like black is a great canvas to add fun accessories and I just plain ole’ feel good in black.  This season I am loving the leather leggings. I feel like they are edgy but still comfy and you can dress them up or down. If you are totally not into leather a good pair of jersey knit leggings are super comfy and great to have. A great tunic is perfect for us mommy’s as it give nice coverage for bending and moving without anything being seen that shouldn’t be. I love a great scarf and the table scarfs are simply amazing. They are so versatile with multiple was to wear them and they are super cozy and will keep you stay warm but are also a great accessory. Boots – what can I say about boots besides I love boots and don’t think you can have enough pairs. I would say my Hunter’s were a great purchase and I wear them often. Since buying mine, my sister and sister in law both purchased a pair and wear theirs often. They are more than just a rain boot, you can also purchase the liners and they can function as a winter boot keeping your feet dry and warm. But riding boots are equally just as important. Yes I said important because in my opinion (and since this is my blog my opinion is what you get) a great riding boot is worth your money. You want them to be comfortable and last you more than one season. You have to think about weather as well, if you live in the wonderful frozen tundra where snow is abundant you will want something that will keep your feet dry and stand up through the salt and snow. Fedoras are a new thing for this season in my wardrobe. I have always had one for wearing in the summer and love it but I have recently purchased a fall styled fedora in black and think it is a fun accessory to add to my outfit this season.
