TGIF! I am so thankful it is Friday! I love having a long weekend but having a lots to get done and cramming it in 4 days isn’t fun!  My “to do” list might still be lengthy but I am so thankful for the weekend!

If you know me you know music is in my blood. I am always singing and dancing and I am teaching my little people to do the same. Recently my baby boy has taken to singing and is always belting out songs in his own little way it is the cutest thing! Music has so much power and effect over your soul. I find music can encourage you on a bad day, can cheer you up when you are sad, can encourage you to act all wild and crazy, it can help you relax or cause you to get all pumped up. I can’t even say I have a favourite genera of music because I really love it all. I am always looking for new music but there is something also so comforting as hearing one of your favourite artist. I thought today it would be fun (maybe just for me but I hope not) to share with you some songs that have some significant meaning in my life.

“She’s In Love With The Boy”  by Trisha Yearwood was one of my first country songs I fell in love with. I never really listened to country till I started dating Tom (my now husband). This song is just a fun song and the girls name is Katie so it quickly was adopted as “our ” song.

“I loved her first” by Heartland is the song I walked down the isle to at my wedding. My poor dad was sobbing like a baby so he was more like tripping and dragging me down the isle but I love this song and now that I have a daughter the thought of my husband walking her down the isle one day makes me sob like a baby when I listen to this song.

“When God Made You” by Newsong I sang this song to my husband during our wedding ceremony. I love the lyrics “When God made you he must have been thinking about me” I still get goosebumps thinking about how when God created my husband and I he had a plan for our lives and that one day we would be one through marriage. I am so thankful that God made my husband just the way He did.

“Blessings” by Laura Story This song was released just around the time we lost our little foster girl that we had planned to adopt. It was probably one of the most heart breaking  and painful things I ever had happen to me and I really didn’t know how I would be able to recover and go on from that kind of pain. The song was a great comfort for me and now that I have two beautiful babies that are mine forever I still listen to this song and I am brought back to the feeling of such brokenness and sadness yet there was always hope.

“Not For A Moment” by Meredith Andrews This song became very special to me when my dad was diagnosed 2 years ago with brain cancer. The journey of life with cancer is something no person should have to ever experience but I am so thankful that as we walk beside my dad during this time we don’t walk alone.

“Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen is a song you can hear daily sung in are house by all of our family members. I love listening to my babies belt out the lyrics. I am always a sucker for Disney songs I just love theatre music.

“Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift because who doesn’t love T Swift and everyone has a day where you just need to get up and shake it off.

What kind of music do you listen to? Do you have a favourite song? I am always looking for new music so send me your songs! Have a great weekend everyone! I heard the weather is suppose to be nice (here at least) so that is a bonus!
